Fees & Payments

Victoria Heart is a private specialist practice.  Our fees will be explained to you at the time of booking your appointment.  The total fee includes a Medicare rebate for almost all our services (provided if you have a valid referral and your Medicare card), so your out of-pocket-expense will be our fee minus the Medicare rebate provded to you.  Outpatient services are not claimable through your private health fund.

Whilst we do not bulk bill, a discounted out-of-pocket fee is available for consultations and tests to Pensioners and Healthcare Card Holders.

Our doctors are all part of “No Gap” cover with private health funds.  If you require admission to a private hospital, you will not be out-of-pocket for any in-hospital consultation provided by any of our doctors.  However, depending on your health insurance policy, you may be required to pay an excess for admission to hospital – we suggest you discuss this with your relevant health insurance provider.  There may also be fees charged by other providers for tests done in hospital or by other doctors that may treat you in hospital.

Cancellation Policy
We kindly request that any rescheduling or cancelling of appointments at Victoria Heart are made at your earliest possible convenience.

A first Last Minute Cancellation (ie. made less than 24 hours of a scheduled appointment) OR Failure to Attend a scheduled appointment will NOT incur a financial penalty.

However, any rebooking following a Last Minute Cancellation OR Failure to Attend, regardless of reason, will require full prepayment for the relevant service before a rebooking will be made.

A second Last Minute Cancellation OR Failure to Attend for any service at Victoria Heart, regardless of reason, will incur a financial penalty of 100% of the relevant prepayment AND no further rebooking(s) will be possible at Victoria Heart.  We shall also advise your referring doctor directly.
