Dr Malanka Lankaputhra

Dr Malanka Lankaputhra is a Cardiologist with clinical interests spanning coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmia and cardiovascular risk assessment.  He is undertaking subspecialty training in interventional cardiology.

After graduating from the University of Tasmania in 2016, Malanka completed Basic Physician Training at The Alfred, then Cardiology Advanced Training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.  He is currently completing a PhD through Monash University, based at The Alfred and supported by an NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship, examining how care for cardiovascular emergencies can be optimised in the prehospital window and translated into new models of care. Alongside his research he teaches and mentors junior doctors and cardiology trainees.
