Mr Jim Dimitriou

Mr Jim Dimitriou is a consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Supervisor of Training at St Vincent’s Public Hospital. He consults at Victoria Heart in East Melbourne and Border Heart in Albury. Jim cares for his patients at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Epworth Richmond, Epworth Eastern, Knox Hospital and Cabrini Hospital.
Jim graduated from Monash University in 2001 and trained at the Austin Hospital, Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital. He obtained his Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2013. He then completed a sub-specialty fellowship in complex aortic surgery, mitral valve repair and heart failure surgery at Toronto General Hospital under the supervision of Professor Tirone David.
Jim is the Lead Surgeon in the TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) Team, an examiner for the University of Melbourne and an interviewer for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.
Jim is happy to see all patients with cardiothoracic conditions and has special interests in complex aortic surgery, valve surgery, coronary surgery, total arterial revascularisation and pacing.
