During an Exercise Stress Test you will exercise for several minutes on a treadmill under the supervision of both a Cardiologist and Cardiac Technician.
Your heart rate, blood pressure and heart’s electrical activity (by an electrocardiogram) will be monitored continuously.
The speed and incline of the treadmill will gradually increase during the test.
An Exercise Stress Test generally takes 30 minutes to perform.
For this test, please
- Continue to take your regular medications, unless otherwise advised.
- Avoid eating for 1 hour prior.
- Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing.
